Biden for President, 2019–2020

We launched with 6,000 people in Philadelphia. Ten months later, nobody was allowed in the room.

A campaign built on rallies and field events had to move online in the middle of a pandemic, without losing the people it had already found.

Who was watching

Voters who would normally show up in a high school gym. In 2020 they were at home on a phone, with a lot of other things competing for the screen.

What we made for them

I produced the launch rally in Philadelphia for more than 6,000 people. When COVID shut down gatherings, the same job moved online: town halls, surrogate panels, and voter programming, all produced as livestreams.

What they did

They kept showing up, just on a different screen. The campaign held onto its reach and its message through the switch, in a year when nothing else held still.
